Filter change on the HB 6000

A reduction in the amount of hot-melt adhesive applied is not always due to insufficient pressure or application temperature. Often it is just that the filters are contaminated and need to be replaced.

The systems in the HB 6000 series are equipped with a pump filter (50 mesh) as standard. The filter prevents the entry of impurities and burnt hot-melt adhesive residues, which are conveyed by the pump into the heatable hose and the application head or handgun.

We therefore recommend the use of a filter on the tank inlet valve. This acts as a first filter unit and prevents the passage of impurities caused by combustion in the tank, and other contaminants that can penetrate from outside.

The adhesive flows through the filter, which traps the contaminants. When the filter is replaced, the contaminants remain there.

You can clean the filter or replace it with a new one. The frequency of changing the filter depends on the specific use. Various factors play a role here:

  • the type and purity of the adhesives used
  • the working temperatures of the adhesive
  • the adhesive consumption in conjunction with the residence time in the container

Rule of thumb: 1,000 hours = Filter replacement

But at least 1x p. a. = time to change the filter
