Setting time

The term refers to the time from application of the adhesive to the load-bearing mechanical strength of the adhesive bond. Hot melt adhesives melt adhesives are first heated and then applied to the adherends to be bonded. After this, the cooling begins, at the end of which the adhesive resiliently bonds the parts to be connected.   

Length of the setting time

The length of the setting time depends on several factors: In addition to the composition of the adhesive, the type of application, the amount applied, the setting mechanism and the ambient conditions, among other things, such as temperature, also play a role.
